I decided to start this little project as a way to explore the subject of Ideals.
Ideals, lets talk about those for a sec....
Ideals can be things we shoot for, causes we believe in, timeless patterns we sort of mold ourselves after, all those things. And I feel the need to ramble about them.
I should talk a little about myself. I'm a writer in lots of different ways. A journalist, a poet, a short story composer, and I've found that the concept of the written word, communication...its central to who I am.
I'm 31, 32 on Christmas. I'm from Brooklyn, N.Y. Which means I can be a cynical fuck. There's humor in that sometimes, but it can be a little self-depreciating. I'm trying to change that.
But one last bit of cynicism, at least for now. My name means "Twin" and some famous saint with the fancy surname "Aquinas" shares it. That's all I'll say. You guys are smart, figure it out! :)
This blog's namesake is Someone I've been learning about a lot in the last few months. His name is Nissyen, a little known figure from Welsh (British Celtic) mythology. His name means "peaceful" and he's sort of the "do-gooder" in his family...a very important family because they rule Great Britain.
Nissyen teaches us about Ideals, the things we believe in, the causes we fight for, the highest potentials we can reach. I'm trying to explore all these things in this little online diddy.
Expect some political rambling about some causes (the financial mess we're in, war and peace and veterans, religious freedom, renewable power, gun control) and talk about ideals (things I've learned about myself from this mythical buddy and friend) Mostly, it's just a musing as I stumble with Nissyen on some silly path That I just might call self-discovery....
